Adam Smears

Head of Investment Research & Portfolio Manager

Adam started in the industry in 1997, having been a mutual funds associate with RBC Dominion Securities in Toronto before joining Fidelity in London where he was a senior fund analyst. He joined the SIG Research Team in 2003 and has overall responsibility for investment research and fixed interest portfolio management. Adam graduated from McGill University, Montreal, with a BA in Ancient History and Classics, and also holds the CFA.

Anthony joined Skandia in 2000 on the Graduate Development Programme and transferred to the Skandia Investment Research Team in 2002.
Anthony is joint responsibility for portfolio management and asset allocation decisions on our Fixed Income Multimanager funds and for Fixed Income manager research.
Anthony graduated from the University of Southampton with a BSc in Geography in 2000, is a CFA Charterholder and holds the Investment Management Certificate.

Mark Parry is a senior investment manager within the multi-asset team. Mark joined Aberdeen in 2011 from Close Asset Management where he was managing director and head of fixed income. Previously, Mark worked for Schroders and was head of inflation bonds. Prior to that, Mark worked for PIMCO Europe where was head of UK fixed income and a partner at SBC Brinson.  Mark graduated with a degree in Economics and Computer Science from The City University, London.

Fiona Gillespie is a senior investment manager on the Multi-Asset team. Fiona joined Aberdeen via the acquisition of Edinburgh Fund Managers in 2003 as an investment manager on various teams within the investment department, including the Japanese, European and Global teams. Fiona joined Edinburgh Fund Managers in 1993. She graduated with a BA (Hons) in Business Studies from Napier University, Edinburgh and a Diploma in Investment Analysis from the University of Stirling. Fiona is an Associate member of the UK Society for Investment Professionals.

David studied Aerospace Engineering at the University of Bristol, holds the IIMR and is add is an associate of the UK Society of Investment Professionals.

Rupert joined Skandia in May 2009 and was previously Managing Director at Black River Asset Management where he managed their Global Macro Fund. Prior to that he worked for Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Investec Asset Management, BlackRock Investment Management and the Bank of England. Rupert holds an MA (Hons) in Economics from Edinburgh University and also holds the Investment Management Certificate.
